List of the best luxury cars in 2020

Luxury cars are a separate category of cars. When choosing them, a lot of different nuances should be taken into account.

Luxury cars exist in a separate world by completely different standards. After all, such a car should not only be hi-tech, refined and prestigious. A luxury car should also provide excellent handling and comfort, which would be equally felt by both passengers and the driver.

Mercedes-Benz S-class (1st place) Mercedes-Benz S-class (1st place)

This list includes cars that are incredibly convenient and steer well. So, super-premium cars will not be on this list. After all, the Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Mercedes-Maybach are much more comfortable for passengers on the back seat.

The best luxury cars in 2020

  1. Mercedes-Benz S-class
  2. Range Rover
  3. Audi E-tron Quattro
  4. Tesla Model S
  5. Audi A8
  6. BMW 7 series
  7. Jaguar XJ
  8. BMW X7
  9. BMW 6 Series Gran Tourismo
  10. Lexus LS

The Mercedes-Benz S-class is predictably at the top of the list. This is a long-wheelbase car with unprecedented comfort thanks to air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers. At the same time, those who primarily care about power can buy a 600-hp S63. It is worth adding a rich selection of powertrains, hybrid electric drive for increased performance and excellent control. This is not just the best car in the segment but a real landmark.

Range Rover (2nd place) Range Rover (2nd place)

Finally, there is the BMW X7. For a large seven-seat SUV, this car steers just fine, while remaining extremely comfortable, although there are some drawbacks. First of all, we are talking about an overly simple interior and a controversial design of the front end.

Two more German cars in this list were released by Audi. The E-tron Quattro is the first truly luxury electric car with AWD drivetrain. The possibility of fast charging combined with a daily charging range of 200-250 miles makes the E-tron also a very efficient electric vehicle. At the same time, in terms of comfort, this SUV can give in to few models. The Audi A8, in turn, is able to give a head start in terms of chassis and transmission. In all other respects, the car remains up to the knocker, even if Audi cannot compete in terms of travelling comfort with other leading companies.

Another SUV which also ended up in second place is the Range Rover. Aluminum monocoque chassis and great suspension allowed the fourth generation of this model to become primarily a comfortable car. That, however, does not reduce its effectiveness on the road. The Range Rover is spacious, well-controlled and quite dynamic. The only possible drawback is its heavy weight. But this is a small price for a car with such a wide range of features.

Tesla Model S (4th place) Tesla Model S (4th place)

Certainly, such a list could not do without the Tesla Model S — a car that shows what a premium electric car is capable of. It can either fly away from the starting point, or carry its passenger very quietly and comfortably. It has a very long drive range for electric vehicles. The Jaguar XJ, in turn, is probably the most balanced car on the list. This is a very sporty car with a reinforced chassis and a corresponding body shape, which is perfectly controlled. And the sense of style that is felt in the interior allows the British to compete with the more luxurious German ones.

Audi A8 (5th place) Audi A8 (5th place)

The Lexus LS is tied at last place. This car has been missing something for a long time. But the current version of the LS combines comfort and luxury to a sufficient extent. At the same time, this Lexus still loses to competitors in terms of drivability (dynamics, more precisely). After all, it's more of an interesting alternative to segment leaders than a real competitor.
