What do the headquarters of the most famous automobile companies look like?

Now, we will show the places where beauties and monsters are designed, where decisions worth billions of dollars are made, and where the most hated by many people who «turned cars into something incomprehensible» work. So, take a look at the 16 most noteworthy HQs of automobile conglomerates.

Mazda

Mazda’s HQs is located in the small Japanese settlement of Fuchū (its population barely exceeds 50,000 people), Hiroshima. The building is one of the oldest, but the Japanese car manufacturer has recently opened a large representative establishment in Australia, where even a small museum of the brand’s key cars is located.

Mitsubishi Motors

Mitsubishi's main office is also pretty simple and located in Minato, Tokyo. The headquarters of competitors from Honda is located nearby. Recently, Mitsubishi joined the Renault-Nissan alliance. However, this will unlikely affect the location of the HQs. After all, during the Mazda-Ford cooperation, no one moved away.

Nissan

Like Mitsubishi’s, Nissan's HQs are set up in a special area (in Nishi, Yokohama). This is where Nissan originates from, although its current subsidiary Datsun was founded a few years earlier and in another city, in Tokyo. The Nissan factory was built in Yokohama in 1935; much more attention was paid not to cars but to aircraft. The new building was built in 2009. The total area of the premises exceeds 92,000 sq m, which are spread over 22 floors.

Volvo

Volvo also values its roots; the manufacture’s new main office is located in Gothenburg, as it was 90 years ago. Moreover, even the building has been preserved, from the gates of which Volvo’s first car drove out in April 1927. In 2010, the Chinese company Geely bought Volvo Cars, but this didn’t affect the location of the HQs in any way. There is also a car safety improvement center and a research department.

Fiat

This photo is full of history. Previously, this building housed Fiat’s main office. Now, it is one of Fiat-Chrysler’s HQs, which are responsible for the corporation development in Europe and commercial equipment. Just behind it, there is the former Fiat Lingotto factory, which has testing facility on its roof.

Chrysler

If there is Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) European office, then there must be an American one too. In this case, the «intellectual cluster» is located in Michigan. It features the American brand logo shining brightly at night and a factory right next to it. As for the main office of the entire alliance and not its branches, it is located in Amsterdam, although the conglomerate is incorporated in London.

Ford

Ford has no shortage of offices either (if only for the reason that the European, American and Australian Ford branches are three big differences), but the headquarters have long been located in Dearborn, Michigan, in the same place as the company's oldest factory. The Ford research laboratory is located next to the building. And it all started with Henry Ford who just bought a house in this area.

Bentley

This is the entrance to the Bentley HQs in Crewe. All cars are assembled there (bodies come from Volkswagen factories in Zwickau and Bratislava). Bentley has 9 large offices around the world, which study the customer’s satisfaction.

Aston Martin

Aston Martin's HQs in Geydon is like a 21st-century fortress: small windows, thick walls, and water reservoirs. According to representatives of the company, this building embodies the values that Aston Martin cars are endowed with: quality, minimalism and aesthetics. It's hard to disagree, the office looks very classy.

Mercedes-Benz

Perhaps, it would be more reasonable to mention the Daimler HQs, but we will not infringe on Mercedes’ building in Stuttgart. After all, its architecture looks much more outstanding. The main office is located in close proximity to the factory and museum. Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion is also nearby.

General Motors

Despite the depressing atmosphere in Detroit, General Motors’ main office is located in the Renaissance Center. The gorgeous building in style of Art Nouveau was built back in 1977. Since then, General Motors has not abandoned it. So, the office was located in the tallest building in Michigan at that moment. The high-rise restaurant Coach Insignia serve their clients on the roof. Was the Opel model named after it?

BMW

Maybe the most famous HQs in the world are the futuristic 22-storey BMW-Vierzylinder center opened in 1973. The 101-meter-high office is still one of the tallest in Munich. It employs more than 1,000 people working within its walls. Due to the office’s spectacular design, the «cylinders» often appear in movies.

Pagani

Nowadays, Pagani Automobili has a new factory (and, consequently, a new headquarters), but we do not forget about what it all started with: a small office surrounded by dense bushes. There was an interesting museum of Horatio Pagani's achievements in its halls, as well as a cozy modest store. We hope that Pagani's new location has preserved the good old tradition, the essence of which was that if you come with an official visit, one of the flagpoles will definitely have the banner of your country on it.

Bugatti

Have you ever wondered what this building is, in the background which Bugatti models are so often photographed? The answer lies on the surface: this is the headquarters of the French company near Molsheim, which is strictly forbidden to outsiders. Such an extravagant choice for the main office at 1856 Chateau Saint Jean is also very easy to explain: this building has long been the guest house of Ettore Bugatti.
