The three-engined electric vehicle will be presented next year.

Tesla continues to fuel interest in the future Model S Plaid, which is due to debut next year. This time, the American manufacturer has some shared technical details.

The Tesla Model S Plaid will get three electric motors, a total power output of which will be about 1,100 hp. The EV will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds and to overcome a quarter of a mile in 9 seconds. A top speed will be 320 km/h.

The declared drive range of the future model is 837 km. This is almost 200 km more than that of the Model S Long Range. How the new EV can achieve such indicators is not yet disclosed.

The design of the Model S Plaid is also kept secret for the time being. At the moment, it is known that the most powerful production EV will cost $139,990. The Model S Plaid will be presented in 2021.

At the end of April, Tesla released firmware for the Model S electric Performance. The EV is now more dynamic than the Bugatti Chiron: the two-ton model accelerates from 0-97 km/h in 2.3 seconds (this is 0.1 seconds faster than that of the 1,500-hp French hypercar).
