2021 Suzuki Swift Is Now Hybrid Only

2021 Suzuki Swift is already out in Europe, including electrical equipment for an ICE range.

The updated model has saved a number of features. For example, now all European Suzuki Swifts will become hybrids. We are talking about the simplest electrical add-ons with a starter generator, which were previously available for a surcharge. In addition, the manufacturer had to abandon the 1.0-liter turbo V3. The electric appendage was incompatible with it.

The manufacturer had to boost another engine. This is a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated V4. It has got a combined fuel injection and an electric phase shifter on the intake.

However, Suzuki made concessions in order to fit into the established Euro 6 standards. Now, the engine is 83-hp (previously, it was 90 hp). A 12-volt motor with a belt drive, which helps the internal combustion engine at the start and in the first seconds of movement, produces additional 3 hp and 50 Nm. A battery capacity is increased from 3 Ah to 10 Ah. This hatchback accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 12.2 seconds.

The Suzuki Swift Sport, which was subjected to electrification in the spring of this year, has also lost a little power. The output of the 1.4-liter petrol turbo Boosterjet is reduced from 140 hp (230 Nm) to 129 hp (235 Nm). Another 14 hp and 53 Nm are developed by a 48-volt motor. A 0-100 km/h time is increased to 9.1 seconds.

The update has also brought the Suzuki Swift an expanded body palette, a new infotainment system, and standard adaptive cruise control. In Europe, sales of the updated Suzuki Swift will start before the end of September.
