Journalists Troll New Chinese SUV

China-based GAC released a compact SUV called the Trumpchi GS8 S.

The car was immediately criticized by media due to its slightly strange design.

According to Carscoops, the GAC Trumpchi GS8 S looks like a collection of many cars, mostly Korean ones and with some hint of the third-generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado but less refined. It has more similarities with the large Hyundai Palisade. However, the GAC is less attractive than the latter. Its rectilinear front end, bunch of taillights and fake double exhaust pipes are especially disappointing.

In general, the journalists are dissatisfied with the “act” of the Chinese company, which, in fact, has copied the car:

While some Chinese automakers create innovative cars with distinctive and attractive designs, many continue to draw inspiration from cars from the West. Take, for example, the new GAC Trumpchi GS8S, recently released in China.

Nevertheless, GAC is going to release the new model and to sell it all over China. Local media report that the new GS8S will be available with a 2.0-liter 252-hp four-cylinder turbo engine. For comparison, the same Palisade is equipped with a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine (291 hp / 355 Nm).
