The Aston Martin Valkyrie: Road Testing Begins

The Aston Martin Valkyrie under the control of an experienced test driver appeared on city roads for the first time.

The unique Valkyrie hypercar with an extravagant design and hybrid powertrain was developed by Aston Martin in conjunction with Red Bull Advanced Technologies. The model looks like a real Formula One car, but it is designed for use on urban roads.

The hypercar made its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2017. After that, Aston Martin carried out testing for the Valkyrie only on closed tracks. But, now, the model has finally seen public roads. As you can see from the pictures, the model is registered and has a British license plate. Also, this particular Valkyrie features a less bright body color in contrast to the prototype. Aston Martin test driver Chris Goodwin is at the wheel of the car.

It is worth noting that the hypercar is driven by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 Cosworth engine with a power output of 1000 hp and 740 Nm. The unit is paired with an electric motor. Thus, the total output of the hybrid powertrain is 1160 hp and 900 Nm.
