Bentley Unveils a Supercar of the Future to Celebrate Its Centenary

The EXP 100 GT is a concept of a self-driving car declared as a visionary model of 2035, although it will not be a shame for such a car in the XXII century.

Bentley has already managed to remind about its 100th anniversary with things like furniture or an ink pen collection. This time everything is more serious; Bentley presents a car that represents a company’s look at the future with an eye on history.

The Bentley EXP 100 GT concept was unveiled at the company's headquarters in Crewe. The company stated that it is «a self-driving electric supercar of 2035».The car details, such as perfect lines of the two-door body with the mascot hovering in the air above the hood, a great number of retrospectives and allusions to historical models, huge «aerodynamic» wheels, 6000 LEDs for outdoor lighting, copper moldings and a door opening system, create a grandiose image. The body itself is made of unpainted aluminum and reaches a length of 5.8 meters.

The Bentley EXP 100 GT interior is finished in leather, wood, copper, aluminum and wool.

Carbon fiber is widely used in the car's design, but due to the heavy batteries, the weight of the concept sports car is 1.900 kilograms. Bentley reports that the powertrain is able to accelerate the car from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and provide up to 300 km/h of its maximum speed. At the same time, the drive range on a single charge is 700 kilometers. The car supports quick charge that allows you to recharge the battery from 0-80% in just 15 minutes.

The concept is equipped with a personal assistant based on Artificial Intelligence. Its visual display is a crystal-like monitor on the center console. The EXP 100 GT autopilot has five different modes, four of which (Enhance, Cocoon, Relive and Customize) differ in system settings, and the fifth one allows you to completely distract from driving and let technologies do the job.

The Bentley EXP 100 GT was designed as a one-off special. It will eventually be exhibited in the company's museum and serve as a source of inspiration for designers and engineers of the brand's upcoming production cars.
