The Dacia Spring is a slightly modified version of the electric Renault City K-ZE available in China, which is a copy of the Renault Kwid. The production Spring is almost similar to the concept of the same name presented in March 2020. The “commodity” EV differs from it in simplified headlights and a charging connector located under a fake radiator grid.

In terms of dimensions, the new model is noticeably more compact than the popular Renault Zoe. The Spring reaches 3,734 mm in length, 1,622 mm in width (excluding rear-view mirrors), 1,516 mm in height, and 2,423 mm in wheelbase. Its ground clearance is 150 mm. Compared to the petrol Kwid, the ground clearance is reduced by 30 mm due to the battery installed underbody. The trunk can hold up to 300 liters of cargo.

The Spring is equipped with a small electric motor that produces 45 hp and 125 Nm. The engine is powered by a 26.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. When using a fast charging station, it can be recharged to 80 percent in less than an hour. A full charge from a 220-volt station will take about 14 hours. A drive range of the new EV is 225 km (WLTP).

The standard Spring comes with electric power steering, central locking, powered windows, six airbags, as well as a small tablet. For an additional fee, you can complete the car with a 7-inch infotainment system touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, air conditioning, and a rear-view camera.
