Externally, the European DS 9 is almost identical to the Chinese version, which was leaked online a few months ago. The only differences are in the headlights design and nameplate location. In other respects, including the chrome decor and «hidden» door handles, the sedans look identical.

The DS 9 is based on an extended version of the Peugeot 508. Dimensions of the new model are following: length — 4,933 mm, width – 1,855 mm, height – 1,468 mm, and wheelbase – 2,895 mm. The model is based on a version of the EMP2.

There are also many options for finishing. Some of them are available as part of the personalization program ‘DS Inspirations’.

The standard equipment includes an extended set of driver assistance systems. Namely, the L2 autopilot, which helps the sedan to move independently on the highway, as well as a lane-keeping system, a function for monitoring the driver's physical condition, a night vision system that recognizes objects at a distance of up to 100 m, a function for recognizing road signs and a system for detecting blind spots.
