Ferrari Introduces Its First Production Hybrid

The supercar was named the SF90 Stradale. It has a power output of 1000 hp.

The new Ferrari SF90 Stradale powered by a 1000 hp gas-electric engine has become the most powerful production model of the Italian company.

The basis of the SF90 Stradale powertrain is a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a power output of 780 hp. Other 200 hp are provided by three electric motors, two of which are mounted on the front axle of the car, and the third — at the rear axle between the motor and the eight-speed automatic transmission with double clutch. This drive scheme gives the SF90 Stradale another palm, as the new product is the first Ferrari with all-wheel drive. This drive configuration has crowned the SF90 Stradale with the garland of victory, as the new SF90 Stradale is the first Ferrari car with all-wheel drive.

The dynamics of the hybrid is quite consistent with its characteristics: it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and from 0-200 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is 340 km/h.

The manufacturer used the keyless entry system for this new model. This system will gradually spread to all Ferrari cars. The Italians will offer the Ferrari SF90 Stradale in two configurations: the basic version and the sports one called Assetto Fiorano. It features a grey body color, racing shock absorbers and springs, light carbon fiber body panels, a spoiler and a titanium exhaust system. The Assetto Fiorano version also offers Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 racing tires.

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is expected to be released in the market later this year. The SF90 will be an ordinary, by the standards of the company, production car with no circulation limit. Prices have not yet been announced but it is known that the new car will be more expensive than the 812 Superfast which costs about €400.000. However the SF90 Stradale will be definitely cheaper than the limited LaFerrari with the price of €1.2 million.
