Ford's New Electric Car Sells Out Like Hot Cakes

The first batch of the Ford Mustang Mach-E sold out by 90%.

The world’s demand for electric vehicles is constantly growing. However, if earlier consumers were not so demanding of electric cars, now they prefer new iconic models. Buyers often line up for models that have not even been released yet. This is exactly what happened with the Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV debuted 4 months ago.

To date, the company has already accepted 45,000 pre-orders for this model, which is 90% of the annual production volume. After all, Ford initially said that it plans to release 50,000 Mach-Es during the first year. This figure is quite impressive, especially when you consider that a price tag of the electric «Mustang» starts from $43,000.

However, you should understand that we are talking about the number of pre-orders made, not about the cars actually sold. These figures may differ significantly, since a 5000-dollar deposit was required to pre-order, rather than the full cost of the Mustang Mach-E. In addition, this deposit is refundable and, in case of refusal, a potential buyer will receive funds back.

The whole picture will become clearer when production of the Mach-E will be launched this fall. The first deliveries of the new vehicle will begin in the fourth quarter.
