Geely Tugella Receives Two Hybrid Versions

The coupe-like crossover can now be charged from an outlet.

The Geely Tugella, aka XingYue in China, has received two plug-in hybrid modifications. The two new versions have been released only in the domestic market.

The hybrid XingYue ePro is equipped with a standard 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine derated from 190 to 177 hp. An 82-hp electric motor is placed between the unit and a seven-speed DCT. As a result, the hybrid crossover produces 259 hp and 415 Nm in total.

There are two versions of the XingYue ePro available in China: the first is equipped with an 11.3-kWh battery, and the second is equipped with a 15.5-kWh battery. An all-electric range of the hybrids is 56 km and 80 km, respectively. The dynamics in both cases are the same: a 0-100 km/h time is 7.5 seconds, and a top speed is 195 km/h.

Externally, you can distinguish the hybrid crossover from the petrol one by the ePro logo and an additional hatch on the back fender, which hides a charging connector. The car costs from ¥196,800 ($29,320) in China, while the petrol version can be purchased for ¥135,800 ($20,235).

The model will be sold under the Tugella name in Europe. The cross-coupe may be equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine (200 hp or 238 hp). The unit is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Dealerships will start accepting pre-orders on November 16, 2020. Prices will be announced closer to the launch of the model in the market.
