Here's What a Proper Pickup Truck from Mercedes Should Look Like

Famous Germany-based Brabus has upgraded the Mercedes-AMG G63.

Based on the new name — the Brabus 800 Adventure XLP — this SUV is designed for travel where no human foot has yet set foot. Given the remoteness of such unexplored places from civilization and the amount of cargo that may be needed, the car is equipped with a cargo platform, thus turning it into a pickup truck.

To do this, the design studio has extended the wheelbase by half a meter and has increased the frame. Along the way, the suspension has been reconfigured and the standard wheels have been replaced with 22-inch ones. As a result, the Mercedes-AMG G63 has become almost 700 mm longer and its ground clearance has been increased to 490 mm.

A Wingcopter is installed in a small cargo platform with a steel bottom and carbon sides. In all likelihood, it is planned to be used in rescue operations and for scouting the route. The drone can cover distances of up to 120 km at speeds of about 240 km/h. The pickup features a power bumper with a winch, an expedition trunk and an additional LED «chandelier» to overcome various obstacles.

The standard 4.0-liter V8 engine is boosted to 800 hp and 1000 Nm. To cool it down, the tuners has installed a new hood with an optimal air intake. The pickup accelerates to from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h. You can adjust the engine sound using the proprietary exhaust system.
