Honda Reveals Another Electric Crossover

Honda’s new model will be presented at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China.

Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co. will unveil the new Siming M-NV Sport EV at the Guanzhou Motor Show. The new vehicle is similar in size to the NV presented last year but differs in probably richer equipment and design.

It is still unclear whether the X-NV will be replaced by M-NV Sport EV or will be sold simultaneously. According Chinese, the new model has the same 120-kW 163-hp electric motor, but its battery specifications and drive range are unknown. However, Jiangsu GSO New Energy Technology Co., which was founded in 2010, will supply Dongfeng Honda with necessary battery components.

The M-NV Sport EV is most likely based on another Honda all-terrain model, namely the XR-V (a local version of the European HR-V).

The M-NV Sport EV will likely receive LED headlights. Among the options announced are a moonroof, crossbars for attaching a roof rack, and two wheel sets to choose from. Other details are promised to be revealed at the Guangzhou Motor Show, which will be held at the end of November.

The standard Siming X-NV features a 120-kW motor and a 53.4-kWh battery. According to the manufacturer, its drive range is 401 km (NEDC). Such a M-NV Sport EV costs ¥169, 800 ($25950).
