As part of the medium- and long-term development strategy, it is expected that Kia will release its first electric vehicle in 2021 and its line-up will include 11 EVs built on a new electric platform by 2025.

The company believes that these models will allow them to take about 6.6% of the global EV market. The popularity of electric vehicles will grow every year, which will allow Kia to bring annual sales to half a million cars by 2026.

Kia will invest $25 billion “to establish leadership in vehicle electrification and business diversification by the end of 2025” under Plan S. Kia also notes that they want „customers to feel and understand that the company will evolve towards electrification and mobile solutions.“
