The official premiere of the fourth-generation Kia Sorento is three weeks away, and to whet the public's interest, the South Korean brand has released several new images of the model. The Korean media also has revealed some information about the engines.

If you haven't seen the new Sorento in spy photos yet, then this batch of images from the automaker itself will show almost everything that the popular SUV will have. The changes are significant, both outside and inside.

The massive gearbox lever, as expected, gave way to a compact rotary shifter, next to which you can notice another smaller one: most likely, it will be responsible for the choice of driving modes. Also, the teaser images of the interior show buttons responsible for seat heating and ventilation, an electric «handbrake” and a start-stop system.

According to Korean Car Blog, the new Sorento will receive three conventional internal combustion engines and a hybrid powertrain. Petrol engines will include a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated unit and a 1.6-liter turbo one. There will also be a completely new 2.2-liter diesel engine. The latter will be combined with an 8-speed semi-automatic gearbox, while the petrol engines – with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. All-wheel drive will be available optionally. The hybrid powertrain will be based on a 1.6-liter turbo engine.
