The Ford Mustang Mach 1 was first introduced in 1968: the model was named after the speed of sound. The last generation of the coupe with this name appeared on the market in the early 2000s, but Mustang has recently announced the return of the Mach 1, however, in a limited edition: the pony car is promised to have the Bullitt’s 5-liter 487-hp V8 borrowed and the Shelby GT’s six-speed Tremec 3160 manual transmission. A 10-speed automatic gearbox will also be available as an alternative. According to Ford Authority, the limited-edition Ford Mustang will go global.

Unlike the Shelby GT that is only sold in the US, the Mach 1 can be purchased wherever Mustangs are officially sold. The circulation of the new car is not yet reported. The Mustang Mach 1 will be positioned between passenger models and top-end Shelby modifications. Other components were also borrowed from the GT350 and GT500, including an exhaust manifold, an exhaust system, suspension parts, and a cooling system. 19-inch five-spoke wheels are stylized as that of the classic Magnum 500. The Mach 1 will be released in the spring of 2021.
