Look at the New Rally Ford Ranger

The new Ford model will take part in the South African Country Cross Series.

The new Ford Ranger has become a completely different car that has nothing in common with the manufacturer's usual pickup truck. The car is powered by a 3.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine. It is also installed in the Ford F-150 Raptor and the Ford GT. However, the usual engine placement has been changed: it is placed inside the wheelbase for the sake of improving the weight distribution.

These are not all changes. The pickup now features a new independent suspension: there is multi-link system in place of the rear axle. The suspension travel is 280 mm. Brembo’s racing mechanisms with six-piston calipers will help the new Ford Ranger brake quickly, and BF Goodrich KDR2+ tires will help it to cope with off-road driving.

In order to participate in the top division of the South African Cross Country Series, the manufacturer plans to build three racing pickups. In the meantime, drivers will have to ride the current pickup trucks equipped with a 5.0-liter engine and a full-fledged rear axle.

A new generation of the passenger Ford Ranger is expected in 2021. It may well have some of the racing solutions in its arsenal. In addition, it is possible that the top-end modification of the Ranger Raptor will receive a turbocharged V6 engine.
