Mazda Celebrates its Centenary with an Anniversary Car

Mazda has turned 100 years old this year. During its history, the company has created a huge number of cars, many of which later became iconic.

In honor of its anniversary, Mazda presented a car lineup in a special red and white livery, inspired by the company’s first production car, the R360.

The lineup was called ‘100th Anniversary’. It was supposed to be shown at the Geneva International Motor Show, but this did not happen for obvious reasons. Therefore, Mazda has prepared a short documentary video dedicated to the limited-edition cars and has started taking pre-orders. The lineup includes the following models – the Mazda 2, Mazda 3, Mazda 6, CX-3, CX-30, CX-5, CX-8, MX-5 RF and Convertible MX-5.

All the 100th Anniversary cars will wear a snowflake white pearl mica exterior paint and red accents throughout, imitating the two-color design of the R360. The cars also received a number of unique touches that indicate their exclusivity, including a 100th Anniversary Special Logo on the headrests, floor mats, rocker panels and other interior details. The design element can also be found on the wheel center caps and front fenders. Also, all buyers will receive a red key fob with the same logo. As for the Mazda MX-5 Roadster, it will be equipped with a dark red roof, like on the R360.

All the models will be released in 100 examples each and will be available for order by the end of March 2021.
