Mercedes Flies off Cliff at 160 KM/H

A police chase in California (USA) turned into a shocking ending. A pursued car flew off the cliff at a speed of about 160 km/h. A driver did not even try to slow down.

As ABOUTCARS found out, the driver died on the spot. As for the car, it turned into a pile of metal. The consequences of the incident can be clearly seen in the video below.

The California police told local media that the car was driven by a 58-year-old David Callahan. The chase started with him “driving recklessly” and when police started chasing him, the driver started accelerating even more.

It is noteworthy that after flying off the cliff, the car flew about 122 meters and landed only on the other side of the river.

The investigation establishes the reason for the runaway. It is assumed that David Callahan was in mentally compromised state due to drugs or alcohol. According to reports, David Callahan's wife reported to police about a year ago that her husband had assaulted her after using drugs.
