Mitsubishi Shows a Hybrid of an SUV and MPV, Xpander Cross

The new model is intended for Asian markets.

The Xpander Cross is a new version of the popular 7-seat Xpander MPV in Southeast Asia.

The model with the “Cross” prefix differs from the usual Xpander in increased road clearance (225 mm instead of 205 mm), a protective plastic body kit, massive bumpers, an enlarged radiator grille and 17-inch wheels. Additionally, the Xpander Cross is equipped with fully LED optics, roof racks and wheel arch extensions (+50 mm to body width).

The Xpander interior accommodates seven people. The second row seats are divided in a ratio of 40:60 and the third row has individual seats for ease of transformation. All of them can be folded partially or completely. The manufacturer claims that еру Xpander Cross has become the quietest in its class, due to the use of new sound and vibration-absorbing materials.

The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is powered by an upgraded 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a power output of 105 hp. It is paired with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. The car is exclusively front drive. The basic cost is about $19.000 in comparison the top configuration which costs from $20.500.
