The Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) will be installed on the 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS 4.0, as well as on the top-end 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4.

With the new transmission, the 420-hp Porsche 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4 will be faster: compared to the six-speed manual transmission, they will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h faster by half a second. A 0-100 km/h time will now be 3.9 seconds; the sports cars will be able to overcome the mark of 200 km/h in 13.4 seconds (0.4 seconds faster).

The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS equipped with a 4-liter 400-hp flat engine and a DCT will also be faster by half a second. They will be able to gain 100 km/h in 4 seconds. The sports cars will accelerate to 200 km/h in 13.7 seconds (0.4 seconds faster than models with a manual transmission).

At the end of June, Porsche started accepting orders for the 718 equipped with a 4-liter naturally aspirated engine and a PDK. The new gearbox, which can be installed on the Cayman GT4, the Boxster Spyder, the Cayman GTS 4.0 and the Boxster GTS 4.0, will cost starting from $3,200-$3,700.
