This Recreational Vehicle Is Crossed With a Boat

This unusual vehicle is a radically redesigned Ford Econoline 350 and is called ‘the boaterhome’.

This RV looks very unusual on the road – a long snow-white body, three axles (a front axle and two rear ones), and even a front-wheel drive system. The long camper is based on the Ford Econoline 350 of the late 80's.

However, the most interesting thing about this vehicle is that it can transform into an 8.5-meter boat. To do this, a part of its body was made removable. By and large, this is a masterfully built boat that drives on the chassis like a car carrier.

‘The boaterhome’ was built by American craftsman John Ortlieb, who has already traveled almost all over the country with his family and friends. The camper boat is impressively comfortable – there is a refrigerator, a kitchen table, a bathroom, a toilet, as well as pull-out beds that turn into sofas.

Driving ‘the boaterhome’ on the road requires some skill, because its length is more than 10 meters. Truckers and bus drivers are definitely capable of coping with this task. By the way, the front-wheel drive system of this strange vehicle really helps to load/unload cargo on approach to water.
