Customers can choose between a conventional internal combustion engine and an electric motor. In the first case, it is a 6.2-liter V8 borrowed from the Chevrolet Corvette. Its power output, depending on the degree of forcing, can reach from 470-720 hp. It comes with a 5- or 6-speed sequential manual transmission. A petrol version can accelerate up to 230 km/h.

The second option is much more interesting. The electric motor of the Spanish company QEV Technologies, depending on the version, can develop from 460-800 hp. It is powered by a 60-kWh lithium-ion battery. With this equipment, the buggy can accelerate up to 220 km/h and travel at least 200 miles (320 km) on a single charge.

Laffite Supercars was founded by Bruno Laffite in Los Angeles in 2017. He is a nephew of the famous French Formula One driver Jacques Laffite.

The Laffite X-Road is estimated at a substantial amount: the petrol version will cost at least $465, 000, and the electric sports car – starting from $545,000. For comparison, you can buy two Lamborghini Uruses or Bentley Bentaygas for this amount in the United States. However, Laffite Supercars plans to manufacture and sell only 30 X-Roads.
