New Electric SUVs from an American Startup

Bollinger will offer its electric platform to third-party companies.

Bollinger Motors is known for its cross-country SUVs. The company’s first development was presented back in 2017. The B1 SUV and B2 pickup truck were showed in 2019. These models are based on the heavy-duty e-Chassis platform developed by Bollinger's engineers.

Despite the originality of the models, they still remain just concepts. This is probably due to the fact that the startup does not have its own factory where it could build SUVs. However, Bollinger does not intend to give up and, while negotiations on a contract assembly are underway, it has decided to sell the innovative platform separately from its models.

The electric platform is fully customizable and can be front-, rear- and all-wheel drive. The E-Chassis is suitable for EVs with any type of body, but its main focus is still commercial transport. The bogie received an adjustable wheelbase, a hydro-pneumatic self-leveling suspension, electronic traction control, a built-in temperature control system, as well as a two-engine powertrain with a 120- or 180-kWh battery. In addition, the platform boasts a load capacity of up to 2,268 kg.

Production of the E-Chassis platform is expected to begin in 2021, when the B1 and B2 will be put on the conveyor.
