All Roads Lead to the Ferrari Roma

The Italian manufacturer has introduced a new supercar, which was called as "a new sweet life" and a reminiscence of the classics.

The Ferrari Roma tries to embrace everything Italian together: the ancient capital, classic models, films by Federico Fellini, a fishing town on the Adriatic coast, a race track, luxury and simplicity.

The front-engine layout and minimalistic design highlight the new model among others. The Ferrari Roma will take a place in the brand's lineup above the Portofino convertible (the name of the fishing town) and will receive some of its components, as well as units from the flagship SF90 Stradale (“road” in Italian), the engine of which is an evolution of the 488 Pista (“track” in Italian).

The novelty is powered by a 3.9-liter V8 turbocharged engine which produces 620 hp and 760 Nm. The Ferrari Roma accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and the maximum speed exceeds 320 km/h. The Roma is a compact car: the length of the coupe is 4656 mm, width — 1974 mm, height — 1301 mm.

Ferrari says that they created the image of Roma with an eye on the classic Ferrari models of the 1950s and 60s: the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso and 250 GT 2+2. At the same time, both the appearance and technical equipment of the new car do not look like something classic; the coupe is fitted with LED optics, a fully digital dashboard, an innovative three-section gearbox selector and the most modern multimedia system with a vertical screen.

Ferrari has not yet announced the date of the public debut, the start date of sales and the cost. It is possible that the Roma will be shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week. The price tag, according to rumors, will be slightly higher than that of the Portofino convertible, which costs at least €190.000 in Europe.
