New Skoda Fabia Debuts Next Year

The popular Skoda Fabia will be built on a new platform and will get new engines. The new model will be released until the end of next year.

The new Skoda Fabia will be released pretty soon. The car is already being tested on the roads. According to Autocar, the new model will be out in Europe “long before the end of 2021”. Among the innovations are the MQB A0 platform, as well as three- and four-cylinder petrol engines.

It is worth noting that the manufacturer will not only change the platform of the model. If the car previously shared the MQB A0 platform with such popular models as the Volkswagen Polo and the Seat Ibiza, then the new Fabia will be designed in the style of the Octavia and Kamiq. A preliminary third-party render shows exactly this, although we do not yet know what the production model will turn out to be.

The engine line is expected to include three-cylinder naturally aspirated and supercharged petrol engines, which will come with both manual and semi-automatic transmissions. Four-cylinder units may also be available. But diesel engines are definitely not worth waiting for. Due to stricter environmental regulations in Europe, the manufacturer does not consider their appearance. Versions with hybrid or electric powertrains are not yet provided, but it is also impossible to prevent their introduction over time. Maybe one day we will see an electric Skoda Fabia.
