The model will be based on an adapted version of the rear-wheel drive platform used in the Infiniti Q50 and Q60. The new sports car will be equipped with a VR-series 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. The VR series also includes a 3.8-liter unit used in the Nissan GT-R. According to the numbers in the car’s name, the engine will produce 400 hp. The 400Z will be offered with a manual or automatic transmission.

The AWD Infiniti Q60 coupe with the same 400-hp engine has a 0-100 km/h time of 5.0 seconds. Despite the fact that the new 400Z will be rear-wheel drive, its specifications have to be more attractive, in particular, due to the much smaller weight than that of the Infiniti Q60 (1825 kg).

A version of the 400Z Nismo with a кшпшв suspension is also expected. It will be designed by Nismo. Given that the 370Z from Nismo was more powerful than a common sports car by only 16 hp, the company’s engineers can easily increase the V6’s power efficiency with the help of a turbocharger.

The existence of the 400Z was confirmed by Nissan’s management last year. The exact release date has not been announced yet. According to unofficial information, the Nissan 400Z may be released this year, if COVID-19 does not make adjustments to the company's plans. Otherwise, it will have to wait until next year. It is also not known whether Nissan plans to sell the new sports car in Europe and the United States.
