No Worse than Tesla’s: the Ford Mustang Mach-E Gets the Newest Autopilot

Ford has developed its own autonomous driving system - Active Drive Assist (ADA).

The first model of the manufacturer to be equipped with this system will be the new electric Mustang Mach-E, which will be released on the market in 2021.

Active Drive Assist will be an optional part of the Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0 package. In order to use it, Mach-E owners will need to purchase special software from dealerships. All technical equipment is already included in the standard configuration of the car. The system uses a camera to track the driver's head position and his eyes, even with sunglasses on. This allows drivers not to keep their hands on the steering wheel. The thing is to keep eyes on the road all the time.

Introducing Active Drive Assist with a driver-facing camera makes perfect sense because the vehicle helps relieve the stress and burden of driving but still leaves you fully in control. And if you lose focus on the road ahead, Active Drive Assist will automatically warn and potentially slow the vehicle down until you’re ready to focus back up.

said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s chief product development and purchasing officer.
