A Porsche 911 Has Driven More than One Million Kilometers and Is Still on the Fly

Canadian Bill MacEachern has been driving a Porsche 911 Turbo for 44 years and doesn't even think about changing it to a new car.

Bill owns a Midnight Blue Porsche 911 Turbo and can't imagine his life without his favorite car. They are almost inseparable and this is evidenced by the odometer data, which shows more than 1.250.000 km.

MacEachern says in his defense that he owned another car in his youth — an Oldsmobile 4-4-2. It was good for city travel but very clumsy. In 1970, he got behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 for the first time and was surprised. He liked how balanced and comfortable the compact sports car was.

After having established his business, MacEachern bought his own Porsche 911 but after a while he saw the Turbo version and could not resist. In the fall of 1975, he ordered a car, which he has been driving to this day. The long-awaited Porsche was delivered from Germany only in may 1976.

Bill drives the 911 almost every day. After having driven more than 1.250.000 km, there were only a few minor breakdowns. The most important of them are half shaft and suspension arm broken in a collision with an SUV.

The Porsche 911 Turbo (930) was produced in 1975-1977. The car was equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and a 3.0-liter single-turbocharged flat-6 engine with a power output of 260-hp.
