SEAT Has Prepared a New Hot Hatch to Replace the Famous Cupra

The SEAT Ibiza has received a 150-hp variant that reaches a top speed of 219 km/h.

When SEAT announced that it would not produce the hot Cupra Ibiza that had debuted in 2018 and had been supposed to get a 2.0-liter 200-hp TSI engine, many fans of the brand began to look for an alternative from other manufacturers. In order not to lose customers completely, the manufacturer has released a new version of the Ibiza hatchback.

The car is equipped with the already well-known 1.5-liter turbo TSI engine with a power output of 150 hp and 250 Nm, which is paired with a seven-speed DSG transmission. This powertrain allows the Ibiza to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 219 km/h.

Despite this, the car easily fits into environmental standards, releasing 128-147 g of CO2/km. It also remains quite fuel efficient, consuming from 5.6-6.4 liters/100 km in mixed mode. The SEAT Ibiza will be produced at the factory in Martorell, Italy.
