Skoda Releases Design of the New Kamiq GT SUV Coupe

The new car is designed for the Chinese market.

The premiere of the Czech novelty will be celebrated on November 4 in the city of Tianjin. The manufacturer promises almost complete identity of the production model to the Skoda Vision GT concept shown in June this year.

If you have already seen the Skoda Vision GT concept, the appearance of the production model based on it — the Kamiq GT — will not be a sensation. In addition, a test model was previously got on camera by photo spies. However, along with the appearance of the model, the Czech company revealed the most important technical details of the SUV coupe.

As well as the standard Kamiq for the Chinese market, the new SUV is based on the PQ25 platform from the Skoda Rapid liftback. It should be noted that the eponymous model for Europe is based on the MQB architecture. In fact, these are completely different cars, though with the same name.

The Kamiq GT has a length of 4409 mm, a width of 1781 mm and a wheelbase of 2610 mm. The SUV is equipped with two engines: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a power capacity of 110 hp and a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a power capacity of 166 hp.
