Customers will start receiving their Nexon EV from January 2020. The new car costs from 1.5 to 1.7 million rupees – it is 21.000-23.000 dollars at the current exchange rate.

The SUV is equipped with a single electric engine with a power output of 129 hp and 245 Nm. It will be only front-wheel drive. The 30.2 kwhr traction battery pack provides the Nexon EV with an autonomous drive range of more than 300 km. Buyers will receive a 3.3 kW AC charger along with the car. The lithium-ion battery pack charges via the CCS port from 0- 80% in 60 minutes. Recharging from 20-100% takes 8 hours. The manufacturer guarantees that the battery and electric engine will last for eight years or 160.000 km of mileage.

The SUV is fitted with two airbags (front), the ABS system, but without the ESP. The expensive configuration features the keyless access, the engine start system, an audio system with eight speakers by Harman, a media center with voice control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a sunroof, a glovebox with cooling, and so on.

It should be noted that the Tata Nexon is also available with traditional internal combustion engines in India: petrol engines cost from $9.200, but diesel ones cost from $10.600. There were no reports if Tata was planning to release a budget electric SUV outside of India, although the manufacturer has long been brooding over plans to enter the European market. The Tata Nexon is as close as possible to the European modern market trends.
