Subaru Evoltis: New 8-Seat SUV With Familiar Design

Subaru has showed a huge SUV that can accommodate 8 people but we have already seen this car.

The Japanese company has introduced a new global model, namely the eight-seat 2021 Subaru Evoltis. This name hides the familiar 2019 Subaru Ascent, which the manufacturer previously delivered exclusively to North America.

The name change did not involve any external or technical changes. The Evolis is built on the same SAP platform and has the same dimensions as the original model: 4,998 x 1,930 x 1,891 mm. The size of the wheelbase is 2,890 mm, and the ground clearance is impressive 220 mm.

A 2.4-liter four-cylinder opposed turbo engine with a capacity of 260 hp coupled with a Lineartronic CVT was preserved. There is all-wheel drive only.

In parallel with North America, the new Subaru SUV will be sold in the Philippines, Chile and Colombia. Note that the new name of the model – Evoltis – in these markets appeared last year. However then, it was assumed that there would be a plug-in hybrid or a new electric vehicle. It is expected that the car will appear in other markets in the future. After all, the company considered the release of the model in Europe.

The Subaru Evoltis is offered in two trim levels in Chile and Colombia: Limited and Touring. The standard version is eight-seat, and the more expensive is seven-seat (there are separate “captain's” seats in the second row).
