The Extreme Mercedes-AMG G 500 Is Declassified Before Its Premiere

The Mercedes-AMG is preparing to introduce a successor to the G-Class 4×4.

The new extreme SUV has been tested almost without camouflage wrap. The only thing that is hidden by wrap on the pre-production prototype is the back and front logos. There are also no nameplates or markings on the brake calipers.

According to published photos, the prototype of the G500 4×4 is equipped with portal axles and massive wheels that provide an impressive ground clearance. Appearance almost completely inherits the predecessor’s. The new car can be distinguished by redesigned LED headlights and taillights, new bumpers, expanded wheel arches and side steps.

Besides, the extreme SUV has received a massive trunk with an LED roof bar and a full-size spare wheel that is mounted on a bracket on the tailgate. There is no official information about the transmission yet, but according to insiders, the successor to the G500 4×42 will be equipped with a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine with a power output of 425 hp and 610 Nm.

The new model may debut at the end of this year. The manufacturer has not yet mentioned the date of the model's release on the market. Presumably, the extreme special version of the Mercedes-AMG G500 4×4 will be released in a limited edition.
