The New-Generation KTM X-Bow Is Named ‘GTX’ and Now Has a Roof

The Austrian company has presented the new sports car in two versions: the racing GT2 and passenger GTX.

KTM, a motorcycle manufacturer, entered the car segment with the racing X-Bow more than 12 years ago. Since then, the car has evolved. Today, the company offers four versions of the model. And this year the brand will release its successor to the market.

The KTM X-Bow GT, like its predecessor, has an ultralight carbon monocoque and a full carbon body. The car is equipped with Audi’s sports engine. The new vehicle is driven by a 2.5-liter 600-hp TFSI. There is less than 2 kg of mass for every horsepower. Specifications of the racing X-Bow GT2 will be correlated, depending on the homologation conditions.

KTM claims to be the third car manufacturer, after Audi and Porsche, to offer a racing GT2 for the SRO series. The first 20 vehicles will be ready this year. The designers of the sports car hope to bring the combat car to the track this fall.
