The New Jaguar EV Is Caught on Camera

The premiere of the new-generation Jaguar XJ is expected at the end of 2020 or early 2021.

A prototype of the Jaguar XJ was first caught on camera in January 2020. Recent photos from winter tests in a Northern country show the sedan in a production body. According to these photos published by Carscoops, the electric XJ will be larger than its predecessor.

It is already known that the new Jaguar XJ will be built on a new scalable MLA platform designed for hybrid and all-electric JLR models. According to preliminary information, the new XJ will receive four 200-hp electric motors (one per wheel) and a 90.2-kWh battery. A drive range will be 470 km. The vehicle will be able to compete with the Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT in the market.

Serial production of the new-generation Jaguar XJ will be established at the JLR factory in Castle Bromwich, UK. The release of the current generation XJ has already been completed. The last sedan was assembled on July 5, 2019. More than 120,000 cars were built in 9 years.
