The New Volkswagen Electric Car Is Disguised as a Kia and Brought Out for Testing

Prototypes of the Volkswagen ID.4 were repeatedly caught in the lens of photospies.

Each time, the manufacturer tried to disguise the model as much as possible, giving it the features of a completely different car. This time, the company disguised the electric SUV with camo wrap and Kia’s tiger nose grille.

Despite such a realistic camouflage, experienced photospies were able to see the prototype of the new SUV under it. So, it is possible to notice a fake radiator grille with the brand logo in the middle. Headlights received a similar graphic as that of the ID.3 hatchback.

The rear end of the electric car features a rear wing and taillights also made in the style of the ID.3. The prototype has an abundance of chrome plated trim, which is clearly visible through the disguise. It runs along the tailgate, bumpers and bottom line of windows, repeating the shape of the roof.

It is worth noting that the Volkswagen ID.4 SUV will first be produced with a 200-hp electric motor and an RWD drivetrain. Later, there will be an AWD version with two engines, which can produce up to 300 hp. A drive range on a single charge will be about 500 km. The model will be available in all global markets, including China, Europe and North America.
