Lexus has updated the fifth generation of its full-size LS sedan.

Despite the fact that the restyling was carried out in the middle of the cycle, the model has received significant changes. If they are not particularly noticeable externally, then the level of comfort and dynamics characteristics have significantly been improved.

In particular, the updated Lexus LS has received adaptive headlights with the BladeScan system, L-shaped daytime running lights, an upgraded chrome plated bumper with square air intakes, redesigned taillights, a Piano Black trim, and a black radiator grille. In addition, the LS color scheme has been updated with a new shade called Gin-ei Lustre, which has a smooth mirror texture and is perfect for a luxury sedan.

Changes in the interior are barely noticeable. In addition to a 12.3-inch infotainment system compatible with SmartDeviceLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the interior features an enlarged rear-view mirror and a modified central tunnel. The interior decoration is made in the style of «Nishijin & Haku», which combines brocade with metal elements. Seats are still finished with leather. Stitching is made deeper and an additional layer of sealer is added for greater comfort. As a result, these seats better absorb vibrations.

You can also add an optimized suspension and new engine supports to the comfort box of the updated Lexus LS. Besides, the company has improved the model's noise insulation and adjusted the engine to improve its sound. As for powertrains, the standard Lexus LS has got an improved transmission and an increased torque at low speeds. The engine of the hybrid Lexus LS 500h connects more often than before, which contributes to faster acceleration.

The designers did not ignore the driver assistance system. In particular, the updated Lexus LS has received an improved AI-powered ‘Teammate’ kit, which includes automated merging, lane changes and diverging. It can also keep a vehicle in its lane and maintain vehicle-to-vehicle distance. Advanced Park, which is also installed in the car, uses built-in cameras and ultrasonic sensors to automatically park the vehicle. Systems are updated over the air.
