The Upgraded Maserati Ghibli Has Made Its Debut

Maserati has unveiled the upgraded Ghibli, a luxury sedan.

The model was supposed to debut in April 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the presentation was held only now. As promised by the manufacturer, the Ghibli has received a hybrid powertrain, having become the first electrified model of the brand.

The unit consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which is supplemented by an electric supercharger and a starter generator. A total output of the unit is 330 hp and 450 Nm. A 0-100 km/h time is 5.7 seconds, and a top speed is limited at 255 km/h. An all-electric range is provided by a battery pack located in the rear end of the car for better weight distribution along the axles.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the Ghibli Hibrid boasts a combined cycle with a consumption of 8.5-9.6 liters per 100 km. In comparison with the diesel version, the hybrid is 80 kg lighter. In order to maintain Maserati’s familiar exhaust sound, the company has reconfigured an exhaust system.

Now let's move on to design, because the changes affected not only the powertrain. Externally, the hybrid Ghibli can be distinguished by a modified grille, different headlights, new taillights, and branded lighting. The body features a lot of blue details that indicate the environmental friendliness of the car. They are present on the side air ducts, rear rack, brake calipers and badge.

The interior features Maserati’s Intelligent Assistant infotainment system with new graphics and a 10.1-inch screen, as well as a new digital cockpit. Software updates will now take place over the air. The surfaces are finished in high-end black leather with original stitching and blue elements.
