Updated Fiat Tipo Receives Cross Version

The Tipo is changed inside and out. Besides, it has got a new engine.

Fiat has introduced the updated Tipo family, which includes a sedan, hatchback, station wagon, and now an all-terrain Cross-version based on a five-door car. The model, which is very popular in Europe and Turkey, has changed inside and out. Now, its engine range includes a new 1.0-liter turbo V3.

The new differs from the previous generation in LED headlights, a redesigned radiator grille, bumpers and wheels. The interior features a new dashboard, red backlight instead of white one, ismartphone wireless charging, and USB ports for second-row passengers. A 10.25-inch UConnect 5 infotainment system is now available as an option.

The new Tipo Cross has a ground clearance increased by 40 mm, as well as threshold overlays and arches made of unpainted plastic.

But the main innovation is a 1.0-liter 100-hp three-cylinder GSE engine of the FireFly family, which replaced two 1.4-liter units with 95 hp and 120 hp. A European customer can choose between two turbo diesel engines: a 1.2-liter (95 hp) or 1.6-liter unit (130 hp (+10 hp)).

European dealerships will sell the updated Tipo in the near future. Its price starts from €13,900.
