Upgraded Audi SQ2 Becomes Slower

Now, it takes the crossover 4.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h.

Audi has upgraded the SQ2: the model has received a new design and equipment. At the same time, the car has lost a little in dynamics – it accelerates to 100 km/h 0.1 seconds slower than its predecessor.

The engine of the SQ2 introduced 2 years ago remains the same: it is a 2.0-liter turbo V4 (300 hp / 400 Nm) that comes with the Audi Valvelift System (AVS), which regulates the height of the exhaust valves to increase torque and reduce consumption. The unit consumes 7.7 liters / 100 km and fits into the Euro-6 standards. The new vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.

The unit is aggregated with a seven-speed S-tronic semi-automatic gearbox (the seventh gear is long) and a quattro system (includes an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch). The weight of the clutch is reduced by almost 1 kg.

The equipment includes a performance suspension that lowers the body by 20 mm, as well as steering with a modified gear ratio. There is also the Audi drive select system with five driving modes to choose from: auto, dynamic, individual, efficiency and comfort.

With a light restyling, the crossover has got new headlights, a redesigned radiator grille and more aggressive bumpers. The standard size of the wheels and tires is 18 inches and 235/45, respectively. 19-inch wheels and 235/40 tires are available for a surcharge. Red brake calipers are installed on all wheels. The crossover features 340-mm front and 310-mm rear brake rotors. The trunk holds from 355-1000 liters of cargo, depending on the position of the backrests of the rear seats.

The Ingolstadt brand offers four interior packages that differ in color and finishing materials. Customers can order fabric upholstery with inserts of genuine leather or Nappa leather, as well as a combination of leather and Dinamica microfiber, instead of Alcantara. Recycled materials and even plastic bottles are used in the decoration of all configurations.

The upgraded Audi SQ2 is equipped with LED headlights (matrix headlights are available as an option), a sports steering wheel and air conditioning by default. Climate control, a digital cockpit and a Wi-Fi hotspot are available only for top-end configurations. The set of equipment also includes Audi pre sense, adaptive cruise control, road sign recognition and park assist.
