The 5-gen Volkswagen Caddy, presented in Dusseldorf on February 20, is built on the new Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform. The multimedia system has two displays to choose from — 6.5 or 10 inches. As before, the car has pick-up variants (including the glassed one) as well as purely passenger MPV variants (the Style and premium Life). The long-wheelbase configuration Maxi now accommodates two euro-pallets.

In addittion to Travel Assist, the multi-function steering wheel was also upgraded. The wheel is equipped with very sensitive sensors that respond even to a light touch. Now the new Caddy also has Trailer Assist, which is already familiar to Crafter owners. The function makes it easier to maneuver with a trailer, including back running. Side Assist and Rear Traffic Alert were also implemented.

The car received a new 4-cylinder engine that meet the Euro 6 2021 environmental standards. There are 75-122 hp units. The engine is equipped with particulate filters, two catalytic converters and dual AdBlue injection — all this significantly reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. These motors make the Caddy TDI one of the world’s cleanest cars in its class.

There is also a TSI petrol engine with a power output of 116 hp, as well as a TGI natural gas unit. In comparison with its predecessor, fuel consumption is reduced by 12%.
