Volkswagen Declassifies the Interior of Its New SUV

Volkswagen will soon introduce its new coupe-like SUV – the Nivus.

The official premiere of the Volkswagen Nivus is planned to be held a week earlier than the announced date. A new ad shows the SUV with a new infotainment system — VW Play.

The infotainment system installed in what the video calls the New Urban Coupe is designed specifically for the markets in South America. It has access to online services and extensive integration opportunities. Judging by icons on the photo, the SUV is equipped with a Start/Stop system, Active Park Assist and a power operated tailgate. The Nivus also features a digital instrumental panel.

It is known that the Nivus is based on the Volkswagen Polo. It looks similar to the T-Cross, but it has a more sloping roof and larger dimensions. Some similarities will be noticeable inside.

It was declared that there will be only one engine. It is a 1.0-liter petrol turbo engine in two power options (115 hp and 130 hp). The first one comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, the second – with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The model will be produced in Brazil. The first cars well be released in the second half of this year. Local sales will also start by then. The SUV will appear in Europe in 2021.
