Volkswagen to Launch 34 New Car Models Next Year

The automaker also plans to release 12 SUVs and 8 electric or hybrid vehicles in 2020.

Volkswagen will launch 34 new models next year. The company will invest €19 billion for future technologies through 2024, €11 billion of which are intended for the development of the e-mobility.

The investment and new models demonstrate that the manufacturer continues to work on its commitments to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050, as well as to cut CO2 emissions in half by 2025. Volkswagen's bold statements and aggressive electric strategy, along with its subsidiaries, continue to address the problems associated with the Dieselgate scandal.

Part of the company's rebranding is ID electric vehicles, which are already in production. VW's long-term goal is to produce 75 electric cars and 60 hybrids by the end of the next decade. During 2020, Volkswagen will release 8 new electric or hybrid vehicles.

The manufacturer plans to sell 26 million EVs by 2029 and an additional 6 million hybrids. The vast majority of the company’s electric cars will be built on the MEB platform; the rest will use the PPE.
