Volvo Has Updated Its Flagship Model

The Volvo S90, Volvo V90 and Volvo V90 Cross Country will undergo a minor facelift.

Unfortunately, these models are not so popular, as, say, standard BMWs or various Audis. Nevertheless, Volvo plans to upgrade their flagship car, although… you may agree that nothing has changed. The front end of the vehicle has received redesigned fog lights and a slightly different spoiler under the front bumper.

In general, the lower part of the bumper is slightly transformed. Only the V90 and V90 Cross Country feature some noticeable differences in the rear end. And only when their turn signals are turned on, because they are now sequential (not all the LEDs are turned on at once; they work sequentially, one after the other, in the direction of the turn). The models have several additional body colors, and the list of options is supplemented with new alloy wheel designs.

Inside, the cars have been changed more technically than in design. For example, you can now listen to music through the new Bowers&Wilkins audio system with an improved amplifier and external noise reduction. The air purification system released for the Chinese market (it was developed even before the coronavirus pandemic) will become available for the ‘90’ family worldwide. Usual 12V sockets installed on the back seat row have been removed and replaced with USB-C inputs for charging gadgets, although most modern devices support wireless charging. As for the seat upholstery, Volvo can stop using leather, replacing it with a so-called wool blend.

All engines of the ’90’ models have received a mild-hybrid system, which was carried over without changes from the XC90. This allowed the company to achieve average fuel consumption and to decrease the level of harmful emissions by 15%.
