Volvo XC40 Receives Second Hybrid Modification

The new modification of the Volvo XC40 in the form of a rechargable hybrid has already been released in Europe.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid T5 entered the market a year ago. The hybrid was equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine (180 hp / 265 Nm), an electric motor (82 hp / 160 Nm), a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 10.7-kWh battery. The total power output was 262 hp and 425 Nm.

The new, more affordable modification of the T4 technically completely repeats the T5 with the exception of the power output. The new plug-in hybrid has received a turbo petrol engine deforced to 129 hp (-51 hp). The maximum torque is reduced to 245 Nm (-20 Nm). Now, the total power output is 211 hp and 405 Nm. The electric motor and battery remained the same.

The maximum speed of both plug-in hybrids, as well as all Volvo models, is limited at 180 km/h. The electric range is also the same — 51 km (WLTP). The acceleration time from 0-100 km / h is 7.3 seconds for the T5 and 8.5 seconds for the T4.
