While Tesla Is Waiting, Another Rival to the Cybertruck Has Been Prepared for Production

American startup Lordstown Motors has showed a pre-production copy of an electric pickup truck called Endurance.

The model intended for commercial use looks quite conventional for this segment and visually loses to its direct competitor — the Tesla Cybertruck.

The electric pickup has received a completely closed grille, which is surrounded by air vents and narrow LED headlights, and thin taillights connected by a decorative strip. A similar line runs through the entire body. Side steps are built into the rear bumper.

The most important feature of the AWD Endurance is wheels with built-in electric motors, a total power of which is 600 hp. A 0-100 km/h is 5.5 seconds, and a top speed is limited at 128 km/h. A drive range is stated to be 400 km. Unfortunately, Lordstown Motors CEO did not disclose any other major specifications of the model during the presentation, only having specified that he would announce them closer to the start of production scheduled for the beginning of 2021.

By the way, all EVs intended to be released next year have already been sold out. The number of pre-orders reached 14,000. The Endurance will cost about $52,000.
