Best Electric Vehicle: 1600-km Range and NASA Technology

Hyperion has revealed a revolutionary electric vehicle that travels more than 1,600 km.

Hyperion has provided information about its first hydrogen fuel cell vehicle — the Hyperion XP-1. According to the manufacturer, the new car can reach speeds of more than 355 km/h and travel 1,635 km on a single tank.

The supercar is built using NASA space technology. The car has a carbon-titanium monocoque, titanium-reinforced composite body panels, a Kevlar-reinforced rear diffuser, an independent adjustable suspension made of aerospace aluminum alloy, and carbon-ceramic brakes. The curb weight of the Hyperion XP-1 is 1,032 kg.

Active aerodynamic elements of the body are also solar panels that change their position after the sun. For a surcharge, the supercar will be fitted with carbon wheels: 21-inch front wheels and 22-inch rear ones. The wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero tires.

The all-wheel-drive supercar is equipped with permanent magnet electric motors, a three-speed transmission, a fuel cell block, and carbon-fiber hydrogen storage tanks. Since we are only talking about the XP-1 prototype, the manufacturers decided not to hide its specifications and reported that it needs only 2.2 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h.

The interior has a huge 98-inch curved display, leather seats, titanium pedals and a gear selector.

The Hyperion XP-1 is planned to be released in a limited edition of 300 cars. The first deliveries to customers are planned for 2022. Prices of the new EV are not disclosed.
