Mitsubishi’s Crossover Is Turned Into a Sports Car and an SUV

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Outdoor and Sport were released in Brazil.

Two new versions of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SUV — the Eclipse Cross Outdoor and Eclipse Cross Sport — are prepared specifically for the Brazilian market. The special modifications differ from the standard model only visually, and there are no technical features provided for them.

So, the Eclipse Cross Sport can be recognized by a redesigned front bumper, air intakes on the hood and wheel arch linings in the color of the body. Red brake calipers, contrasting black decor and carbon fiber-like individual parts are also included in the list of visual differences.

The ‘Outdoor’ prefix in the name suggests a brutal look with massive black linings «screwed» to the wheel arches, dark plastic decor on the body, bright yellow stripes on the sides and additional yellow towing eyes in the front bumper. The interior features only decorative contrasting stitching on the door panels and seats.

Regardless of the look, the «Brazilian» crossovers are equipped with a 1.5-liter 165-hp turbo engine coupled with an IVT. There is an AWD system with a clutch on the rear axle. Both versions are available in the top-end configuration, meaning the driver has the maximum possible set of equipment for the model.

Prices have not yet been announced. It is known that only 200 units of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Sport will be released, while the number of the Outdoor is not limited.
